Screen Printing 101, Introduction to Printing Tee Shirts

Course materials: In this introductory class you will learn about the tools needed to screen print tee shirts. Jonathan will walk you through the process explaining what you need to do the job and what it will cost to get set up. Here you can get a good understanding of the process from art to the printed tee shirt. Jonathan will discuss the equipment required, the space needed and the supplies that will be used. You’ll get to learn about artwork, film output, screen making, setting up on press, printing, and even reclaiming. You will coat a screen, washout a 1 color stencil, reclaim a screen and print some 4 color shirts to take home. For the printing part of the class we will have a 4 color design to set up and print. The shirts you print yourself are yours to take home. What makes this class even better is if you decide to buy equipment, you get to deduct the cost of the class from qualifying purchases. Feel free to bring your own packed lunch if you like but lunch & refreshments will be provided at RANAR.

By The Day Training In Your Shop:
If you are interested in training in your manual screen printing shop, we charge by the day. Each day is 8 hours with a lunch break. This would be 1 on 1 training with Jonathan himself. With this type of 1 on 1 in shop training Jonathan is basically at your disposal. We do not have a structured class or demonstration to give. Jonathan will teach from his experience and skills directly relating to your needs.
In shop training is $350 per day.
If you have an M&R automatic press in your shop and would like training with it, please advise us of which model you have. Otherwise, manual screen printing training is given on location.

On Location Screen Printing Demonstrations:
This is a live screen printing demo in which Jonathan and his mobile equipment will come to your school, business or other organization and give a demonstration on the process. This will include setting up and printing a 1 color print as well as an oral/visual presentation. Jonathan will explain the entire process and show how to print a tee shirt. Attendees will get to print a tee shirt and take it home with them. This demo is like a live version of the popular video by Catspit Productions which explains the process so people who are unfamiliar with it may understand the method. This is an excellent demonstration that is suitable for educational purposes as well as recreational and entertainment purposes.
